Solitude - from the frozen shores of Lake Superior.

The relentless power of the big lake is punishing, but nature is resilient. The only sound the morning this photo was taken was the music of fresh ice pushing up against the shore. It looked and felt like a desolate, foreboding, and lonely place. “The Stack” at Tettegouche State Park in Minnesota stood tall and inspiring in an obviously hostile environment. It stood against the power of Lake Superior for centuries with its trees clinging to the rock, but finally succumbed to the power of the big lakes waters just after this shot was taken.
