Sometimes the most beautiful part of a sunrise is not the sky or the sun itself but the details right in front of you. The best photos and the most peaceful and relaxing times come from those times when you slow down and take in the world around you. The sun had already risen, the sky was clear, the wind was still and there was a light fog on the horizon. It was a nice morning but not particularly great for a landscape photographer shooting sunrise. However, there is always a photo to be made and by slowing down and looking around this log was an obvious subject.
